There are so many ways you can support our work to make New York City healthier and safer for all. Here’s how you can give to FPHNYC.
Send a check by mail to:
Fund for Public Health NYC, 22 Cortlandt Street, Suite 802, New York, NY 10007
Donate Stock
By donating appreciated stock directly to FPHNYC, you avoid paying capital gains tax, receive a tax deduction for the fair market trade value of your gift, and improve the health of NYC.
Give through your Donor-Advised Fund
If you already have a donor-advised fund (DAF), you can recommend gifts be directed to FPHNYC. If you do not have a DAF, consult your financial adviser or lawyer to see if it’s right for you. DAFs can be set up through a community foundation or financial institution. They provide favorable tax benefits along with flexibility of donating cash, stock or other assets to charities.
Workplace Giving
Many companies allow employees to donate through payroll deductions or employee giving campaigns. Companies may even match their employees’ contributions, doubling the impact of your gift! Contact your HR department to find out if your company has a workplace giving program and ask how you can direct a donation to FPHNYC.
Leave a Legacy
By writing FPHNYC into your will or trust, or designating us as a beneficiary of your retirement plan or IRA, you can have a lasting impact for generations to come. Together, we can create a plan that meets the needs of your family while making a difference in the health of future New Yorkers. Here is some sample language that you can share with your financial advisor or lawyer to get you started:
“I, [insert name], of [insert city, state, and zip], bequeath [insert amount or percentage of estate] to the Fund for Public Health in New York, Inc. (tax ID number: 05-0539199), a nonprofit organization located at 22 Cortlandt Street, Suite 802, New York, NY 10007, for its unrestricted use and purpose.”
