About Us

We all benefit from public health. The Fund for Public Health NYC (FPHNYC) is a strategic partner of the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene for launching and managing innovative public health initiatives. FPHNYC mobilizes philanthropic organizations, individuals, and the private sector to support initiatives that reduce health disparities and respond to crises like COVID-19, making it possible for more New Yorkers to realize their full health potential. 

Our Story

FPHNYC was created in 2002 as an independent nonprofit organization with the purpose of connecting the NYC Health Department to private sector partners and the greater philanthropic community.

Our History

Since our founding in 2002, we’ve raised more than $500 million in public and private funding for nearly 440 projects, making New York City healthier and safer for all.
